Lee gained court approval of a restructuring plan that will enable it to emerge from bankruptcy by the end of the month, while protecting shareholders from being wiped out. Lee Enterprises closed at $1.10 Monday. Village Bank and Trust Shares of Village Bank and Trust, VBFC, the Midlothian, VA bank holding company, rose 51% Monday on 18 times the average daily volume. There was no news to account for the rise in share price. Village Bank and Trust closed at $2.04 Monday. Columbia Laboratories Shares of Columbia Laboratories CBRX, the Livingston, NJ women’'s healthcare company, fell 55% Monday on 13 times the average daily volume. Columbia Laboratories and Watson Pharmaceuticals confirmed Friday that the Advisory Committee for Reproductive Health Drugs of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration did not recommend approval of progesterone vaginal gel 8% for the reduction of risk of preterm birth in women with short uterine cervical length at the mid-trimester of pregnancy. While panel members generally agreed that progesterone vaginal gel 8% is safe, the panel stated that more information is needed to support approval. Columbia Laboratories closed at $0.71 Monday.
