Steel Dynamic, Inc. (STLD) Up In After-Hours Trading

Shares of Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ: STLD) were up by 2.45% to $17.95 in after-hours trading following the first-quarter results announced by the company today.

The company reported a profit of $65 million, or $0.29 per share in the first-quarter, compared with a loss of $87.9 million, or $0.48 per share it reported for the same period last year. Sales were up by 91% to $1.56 billion. Gross margin improved to 13.5% in the quarter. Steel shipments were up by 89% to 1.4 million tons in the quarter.
