The investment window for the Canvas Apartments offering on CrowdStreet is closing at the end of the day on Oct. 6.

The offering is for an equity investment in the ground-up development for 285 apartment units above 31,660 square feet of retail in the vibrant Arts District of Hyattsville, Maryland, and only two miles from the Washington, D.C. border.

The sponsor has assembled seven adjacent lots with 500 feet of frontage along Baltimore Avenue in the heart of the downtown commercial corridor. The City of Hyattsville is supportive of this project and believes the development will be a major economic driver for the city.

Investment Highlights: The development includes a public-private partnership to provide parking that supports retail throughout the neighborhood, as well as roughly $1 million in grants to aid in the capitalization of the project.

The Hyattsville market has a strong demand for rentals with the consistent flow of renters from the University of Maryland and the city’s close proximity to jobs in downtown D.C.

The sponsor plans to start construction this month and have the property ready for occupancy by November 2023.
