On Friday afternoon, Bloomberg TV reported on the internal e-mail from a MF Global treasurer which states that Jon Corzine gave "direct instructions" to transfer $200 million from a customer fund account to meet an overdraft in one of the brokerage's JPMorgan Chase & Co. accounts in London.
Bloomberg's Julie Hyman reported on Bloomberg TV's "Street Smart" program that “This appears to be the most direct and damaging evidence uncovered by investigators.”
Bloomberg's Adam Johnson added, “Here is potentially a smoking gun that people have been talking about…but that is very damning potentially to Mr. Corzine.”
