Yahoo Japan Posts Rise In Net Profit

Yahoo Japan Corp YAHOY reported a rise in its net profit for the fiscal fourth quarter. Yahoo Japan's quarterly net profit climbed to Y27.61 billion, versus a year-ago profit of Y24.37 billion. Its revenue surged 5.4% to Y79.91 billion from Y75.79 billion. Its operating profit jumped 3.4% to Y43.80 billion from Y42.38 billion. For the fiscal first quarter, Yahoo Japan expects a net profit of Y24.40 billion to Y25.80 billion on revenue between Y73.00 billion and Y76.90 billion. Yahoo Japan shares closed at $10.30 yesterday.
