Quebecor Posts Surge In Q1 Net Profit

Quebecor Inc QBCRF reported a rise in its first-quarter net profit. Quebecor's quarterly net income attributable to shareholders climbed to C$72.9 million, or C$1.14 per share, versus C$34.3 million, or 52 Canadian cents per share, in the year-earlier period. Its adjusted income from continuing operations surged to C$39.3 million, or 62 Canadian cents per share, versus C$35.9 million, or 56 Canadian cents per share. Quebecor's revenue surged more than 7% to C$1.06 billion.
