Compass Group Posts Increase In H1 Profit

Compass Group PLC CMPGY reported a rise in its first-half profit. Compass Group's net profit for the period climbed to GBP427 million, from GBP384 million, in the year-ago period. Its revenue rose 8.6% to GBP8.55 billion from GBP7.87 billion. Compass Group's pre-tax profit surged 10% to GBP581 million, versus GBP528 million. It also declared an interim dividend of 7.2 pence, up from 6.5 pence. Compass Group shares closed at $10.05 yesterday.
