Numerous publications are reporting it as fact. But were 6.5 million LinkedIn
LNKD passwords really leaked this morning?
According to
LinkedIn's official twitter, "Our team continues to investigate, but at this time, we're still unable to confirm that any security breach has occurred. Stay tuned here." That message was tweeted at 10:18 a.m. EDT.
But
The Next Web reports that at least one LinkedIn user has been able to confirm that his password was leaked. With or without confirmation, Business Insider
urged its readers to change their passwords as soon as possible.
Should you worry? Probably not. But definitely take the advice of the aforementioned publications and change your password. If no leak occurred, you just wasted 30 seconds. And if a leak
did occur, you might have saved yourself hours/days (or weeks) of grief.
