Compellent Appoints Sherman Black to Board of Directors

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN--(Marketwire - August 13, 2009) - Compellent Technologies, Inc. CML today announced it has appointed Sherman Black to its board of directors. Mr. Black will serve as a director on the board, and as a member of the Corporate Governance Committee and the Audit Committee.

Mr. Black brings more than 20 years of data storage industry experience to his position on Compellent's board. He has held numerous positions at Seagate Technology, most recently as a senior vice president of marketing and strategy for the company's core products group. Previously, Sherman was the general manager of Seagate's enterprise business unit. Currently he is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Rimage Corporation, the leading manufacturer of on-demand digital publishing systems.
