European car sales declined 8.7% in May.
New car registrations in the European Union fell to 1.107 million vehicles in May, according to auto industry association ACEA.
Auto sales in Germany declined 4.8% to 289,977 vehicles. Deliveries in UK rose 7.9% to 162,288 autos.
Five-month sales in the European Union dropped 7.7% to 5.442 million vehicles.
