Apple iPhone 5 Coming Later Than Anticipated?

It seems that Apple AAPL might not be ready to release the next iPhone. According to DigiTimes, the upstream supply chain "sees no signs of Apple starting mass production" next month. Recent rumors suggested that Apple might release the iPhone 5 in August to capture the back-to-school market. But DigiTimes' sources claim that they have not seen any significant increases in iPhone component supply for the month of July. That being the case, it would be all but impossible for Apple to release the highly anticipated device in August. DigiTimes also reported that "some players" within the industry believe that Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 at the end of August, with a release likely occurring in September. Previous reports suggested that the device would ship in October, one year after the iPhone 4S. Earlier this month, Foxconn chief Terry Gou said that the iPhone 5 will put Samsung's Galaxy S III to shame. The device is expected to contain a new mobile wallet feature, as well as a revised form factor that incorporates a larger screen. Follow me @LouisBedigianBZ
