Some of the stocks that are valued below $10 and have the potential to become one of the high volume movers in the early trading hours are: The biopharmaceutical company, Achillion Pharmaceuticals ACHN, which deals with discovery, development and commercialization of treatments for infectious diseases, reported positive results for its hepatitis C drug ACH-1625. By 10:07 am, ACHN had jumped 16.95% to $2.76. Achillion has a 50-day average daily share volume of 225,000. The electronics manufacturing services provider, SMTC Corp SMTX reported higher Q1 EPS from continuing operations of $0.14, versus the year-ago loss of $0.06 a share. By 10:35 am, the stock was up 10.28% to $3.97. SMTX’s 50-day average daily volume is 379,000. China Wind Systems CWS announced that it is expecting 2010 revenue of about $76.5 million to $85 million and EBITDA of $22.7-$25.2 million. In 2009, the company had reported revenue of $53.5 million and EBITDA of $11 million. According to CWS, sales of precision forged products used in large wind turbines are likely to go up in 2010. CWS’ three-month average daily volume is 80,000. China Digital TV Holding STV Q1 EPS of $0.10 on revenue of $14 million beat analyst estimate of EPS of $0.08 on revenue of $12.3 million. STV also declared better-than-expected revenue guidance for Q2. Its shares soared 12.68% to $7.11 by 10:46 am. The company has a three-month average daily volume of 213,000.
