FreightCar America RAIL reported a weaker-than-expected second-quarter results.
FreightCar America's quarterly net income surged to $5.6 million, or $0.46 per share, versus $184,000, or $0.02 per share, in the year-ago period.
Its revenue climbed 85% to $181.2 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.57 per share on revenue of $189.3 million.
FreightCar America's new orders declined 12% to 961 units.
FreightCar America shares closed at $20.98 on Friday.
