Tesla, Inc. TSLA CEO Elon Musk on Thursday took to Twitter to applaud Airbnb, Inc. ABNB co-founder, following the latter's decision to step down from an active managerial role.
Airbnb's Joe Gebbia announced Thursday he is stepping back from his full-time role at the company after "14 wild years."
"It's been an incredible journey I've joyfully traversed across my 20s, 30s, and now into my 40s. Yet, like any traveler, I often find myself wondering what else there is to explore," Gebbia wrote in a blog post. San Francisco-based Airbnb, founded in 2008 by Gebbia, along with Brian Chesky and Nathan Blecharczyk, is an online marketplace for lodging, primarily homestays for vacation rentals. The company went public in December 2020.
Gebbia said he would stay on the board of both Airbnb and Airbnb.org. Quote-tweeting Gebbia's announcement on Twitter, Musk said, "Congrats on an incredible company with Airbnb, now for Book 2."

Price Action: Airbnb closed Thursday's session up 0.38% at $108.14 but retreated 0.59% to $107.50 in after-hours trading, according to Benzinga Pro data.
