Origin Agritech Develops New Corn Varieties With Enhanced Nutritional Components

Origin Agritech Ltd SEED said five newly developed sweet and waxy corn hybrid varieties with varied nutritional components have completed registrational trails and await production approval.
The newly developed corn hybrids include a sweet corn hybrid containing 45% more folic acid and other hybrids with high vitamin E and phenolic compounds.
The development is expected to cater to the Chinese market's high demand for sweet and waxy corn.
Origin is testing new Nutritionally Enhanced Corn (NEC) hybrids in dozens of locations across the major corn-growing areas in China in 2022.
Price Action: SEED shares are trading lower by 5.33% at $9.23 on the last check Friday.
