Universal Health Services (UHS) To Acquire Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSYS)

Universal Health Services, Inc. UHS announced that it has agreed to acquire Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. PSYS for around $2 billion. Earlier, on Sunday, the Wall Street Journal had reported that Universal was one of the top bidders for Psychiatric. Psychiatric has been valued at $33.75 per share, which is a premium of 3.4% to its closing price on Friday. As part of the agreement, Universal will also assume about $1.1 billion in Psychiatric Solution’s debt. Shares of Psychiatric Solutions, Inc were up 2.36% to $33.30 in pre-market trading in New York today.
