Trump Gets Called Out By White House For 'Antisemitic' Comments: 'Insulting To Jews And Our Israeli Allies'

Former President Donald Trump’s comments on American Jews were “antisemitic,” a White House spokesperson said on Monday.

What Happened: Karine Jean-Pierre said, “Donald Trump's comments were antisemitic, as you all know, and insulting both to Jews and our Israeli allies.”

“For years Donald Trump has aligned with extremists and anti-Semitic figures and it should be called out," she said.

“We need to root out antisemitism everywhere wherever it rears its ugly head."

Why It Matters: Trump said on Truth Social on Sunday that “U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel — Before it is too late!”

Trump’s comments were condemned widely and described as “unabashed antisemitism” by the Jewish Democratic Council of America, according to a prior report.

Star Trek fame actor George Takei joined the condemnation and said GOP leaders have failed to condemn Trump for his antisemitic post.
