NVIDIA Corporation’s NVDA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU is now available for content creators — but is it as good as RTX 4090?
What Happened: Nvidia is back with another 40-series graphic card. The new GeForce RTX 4080 GPU comes with significant performance enhancement of up to 1.6x compared to the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU.
The boost in performance can be accredited to third-generation RT Cores, fourth-generation Tensor Cores, eighth-generation dual AV1 encoders, and 16GB memory. This combination is a bouquet of tech innovation for content creators as they can edit up to 12K RAW video files or large 3D scenes.

Why It’s Important: While the RTX 4080 can deliver a brilliant 4K gaming experience compared to the RTX 30-series, it is still somewhat tamer than RTX 4090, according to The Verge.
GeForce RTX 4080 GPU can be bought from leading add-in card providers such as ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, Galaxy, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC. It is priced at $1,199 — $400 less than the RTX 4090, and yet RTX 4080 can easily beat the RTX 3090.
Nvidia was planning to launch a 12GB RTX 4080 model with different specifications at a reasonable price of $899. However, given the widespread criticism over confusing names and specifications, the proposed card was discarded, and the 16GB RTX 4080 model was ultimately rolled out, the report noted.
