Did you know that over the years marijuana has become a staple at the Thanksgiving dinner table? Yes, each year brings new recipes and options to serve cannabis-infused food right next to your juicy Thanksgiving turkey. It could be weed-infused turkey gravy or a THC-infused non-alcoholic beverage to wash it all down.
That’s right, as many Americans find family holidays to be a bit stressful and tinged with family drama waiting to happen, some have decided to turn to weed to help tone things down. Others, with less stressful dining situations, might put some weed on the menu to fire up those joyful moments. It depends. Either way, everyone is ready for the giving season.
According to a recent survey from cannabis company, Ayr Wellness Inc. AYR AYRWF and a global market research platform Suzy, 70% of 1,600 respondents stocking up on marijuana for the holidays said they're buying enough to share with friends and family. Holidays ARE times for sharing!
The survey also revealed that 24% of respondents plan to spend $100 or more on cannabis, some 34% are likely to serve THC-infused food, and more than 65% will choose cannabis over alcohol for their “Danksgiving” celebrations. With this data, it’s obvious why Green Wednesday, the Thanksgiving pre-party, has become a much bigger deal than Black Friday or Cyber Monday in states that have legalized adult-use cannabis.
This Thanksgiving, we rounded up a few ganja-inspired ideas whether you're looking for something for yourself or your stoner friends.
