Kim Jong Un's Sister Calls US 'Barking Dog Seized With Fear,' Warns Of 'Fatal Security Crisis'

Kim Jong Un's influential sister warned that the U.S. will face "a more fatal security crisis" if it tries to "deprive" North Korea of its "right to self-defense."

What Happened: Kim Yo Jong called the U.S. "a barking dog seized with fear," according to state broadcaster KCNA, hours after dubbing the US-led statement condemning Pyongyang's missile launches at the U.N. as "disgusting."

She said North Korea considered the U.S.-led statement "a wanton violation of our sovereignty and a grave political provocation."

This came after U.S. Ambassador told U.N. Security Council's emergency meeting on Tuesday that Washington will circulate a proposed presidential statement condemning Pyongyang's banned missile launches and other destabilizing activities.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield also read a statement by 14 countries that supported action to limit Kim's isolated nation’s advancement of its weapons programs.

"The U.S. should be mindful that no matter how desperately it may seek to disarm the DPRK, it can never deprive the DPRK of its right to self-defense and that the more hell-bent it gets on the anti-DPRK acts, it will face a more fatal security crisis," Kim said in a statement carried by state media.

Yo Jong, considered the second-most powerful person in North Korea after her brother, lambasted the UNSC for turning "blind eyes" to the "very dangerous" military drills of the U.S. and South Korea.
