Apple's 'Always-On' Feature Draining Your iPhone 14 Pro Battery? Here's How You Can Fix It

Apple Inc.'s AAPL iPhone 14 Pro users have an 'Always-On,' or AOD, update that would save their battery without taking essential information away. 

What Happened: Popular YouTuber Marques Brownlee shared a video on Twitter saying, "Always-On doesn't have to be always ON."

Apple recently added the AOD to the iPhone 14 Pro, while Android has had this feature for a long time. 

On iPhone 14 Pro, the AOD mode "keeps the time and wallpaper."

Brownlee, however, thinks that "even though it's one hertz, it feels that the iPhone is not actually asleep, it's too bright."

Brownlee said that now in the newest iOS 16.2 updates, Apple added toggles to keep the 'Always On' display but turn off the wallpaper. This enables users to save battery but still see time and notifications. 

In the video, Brownlee also took a dig at Apple, saying, "Water resistance, wireless charging, widgets on home screens — there's an endless list of things that have been added to iPhones after Android phones have them for years." 

In October, during the Fall 2022 event, Google took a swipe at Apple, saying thank you for choosing to "follow our lead."
