iPhone 3GS For Just $97

Wal-Mart WMT is going to slash the prices of 16 GB iPhone 3GS by $100 to $97. The announcement comes before the official launch of iPhone 4G. The move will help Wal-Mart to clear inventory and also make the 3G version as the entry level model. When iPhone 3GS was launched a year earlier, the 8 GB model was the entry level model with price tag of $99. The 16 and 32 GB were priced at $199 and $299 respectively. Apple AAPL has initiated its annual back-to-school promotion whereby buyers of a qualifying MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or iMac computer get a free 8GB iPod touch.
