What's Going On With Tesla Stock Today?

Tesla Inc TSLA shares are trading lower Tuesday after the company reported fourth-quarter delivery numbers that came in below estimates.

What Happened: Tesla said it produced 439,701 vehicles in the fourth quarter and delivered 405,278 vehicles. The company produced 419,088 Model 3 and Y vehicles and more than 20,000 Model S and X vehicles. Tesla delivered about 388,000 Model 3 and Ys and delivered 17,147 Model S and X vehicles.

Full-year production numbers grew 47% year-over-year to 1.37 million. Full-year deliveries were up 40% year-over-year to 1.31 million.

Following Tesla's production and delivery update, Goldman Sachs analyst Mark Delaney maintained Tesla with a Buy rating and lowered the price target from $235 to $205.

Tesla is set to report its fourth-quarter financial results after the market close on Jan. 25. The company is expected to post earnings of $1.25 per share on quarterly revenue of $26.03 billion, according to Benzinga Pro.

Tesla also announced that it will hold an investor day via livestream at its Gigafactory Texas on March 1. The company plans to showcase its advanced production lines and long term expansion plans.

TSLA Price Action: Tesla has a 52-week high of $402.67 and a 52-week low of $108.24.

The stock was down 4.03% at $118.21 at time of publication, according to Benzinga Pro.
