AI Imagery Is Butchering Financial Terms — Our 5 Favorite Fails, Including 'Retererent'

You’ve probably heard about ChatGPT by now, Open AI’s chat-based AI software that is now implemented in Microsoft Corp’s MSFT Bing search engine. But on the heels of ChatGPT, new AI tools are rolling out to help content creators.

There are many online image generators using AI, including Hotpot, Craiyon, Canva and more. We plugged some of our favorite financial terms into Canva’s AI tool, and let’s just say… it did not understand the assignment.

Check out our top-five favorite fails: 

1.) "Retirement Plan"

C’mon AI…. You’re so close to the correct spelling! I just want to know what this dude’s face would look like without the “Retererent” sign in front of it.

2.) "Wall Street Bets Traders"

Ok, at first glance, it looks like the AI at least nailed the look of a “Wall Street trader.” But, if you look closely at the traders’ faces, you can see that there’s something… off. Not to mention, WSB traders usually don’t wear suits.

3.) "Buy The Dip" 

“By the dip diip sipp” again… the AI was close with this one, but it leaves us desiring a little bit more. Let’s just say this slide isn’t going to make it into an investment deck anytime soon. 

4.) "Bullish investor" 

Ok, I can’t even try to defend the AI here. I’m not a zoologist, but I don’t think that’s even a bull. And what’s going on with the ear? It looks like a portal to Sauron from Lord of the Rings. 

5.) "Investing money"

Not sure what the AI was going for here, but it certainly has meme potential. “Show me the mowey!”
