Royal Queen Seeds, a leading European seed bank, recently presented its latest F1 hybrid strains and process to some of the biggest names in the cannabis industry at an event in Barcelona. The event, held on March 10th at the Hotel Novotel in Cornellà, was attended by 50 influential figures including prestigious growers, journalists, and key players in the sector.
The F1 hybrid process is a major breakthrough for the cannabis industry, as it allows breeders to create new strains with desirable traits from two different parent strains. By using the F1 hybrid process, breeders can produce offspring that are more genetically diverse and have increased vigor and yield potential.
The Royal Queen Seeds team has spent years perfecting their F1 hybrid process and developing new strains. The results of their research have been impressive, with the eight new F1 hybrids showing great promise in terms of yield, potency, and flavor.
The presentation event kicked off with a 30-minute breakfast, giving attendees a chance to interact and network with each other and Royal Queen Seeds' founder Boy Ramsahai. CEO Shai Ramashai then gave an introductory speech about the company's journey before handing over to Maikel de Bresser, one of the biologists and brains behind the F1 hybrid project.
De Bresser went on to explain the process involved in creating F1 hybrids, from selecting desirable parent material to developing inbred lines (IBLs). Finally, plant geneticist Andreu Francés provided details about the research involved in the project and the results achieved so far. The team has developed eight new F1 hybrids, including Medusa F1, Orion F1, and Milky Way F1, all of which are autoflowering varieties.
Royal Queen Seeds was founded in Europe and has since expanded to the USA and Thailand. The company is known for supplying high-quality cannabis genetics worldwide and has established itself as one of the biggest seed banks in Europe.
