Alibaba-Huawei Inch Closer To ChatGPT Counterpart Like Product, Launch In April

Alibaba Group Holding Limited BABA and Huawei Technologies Co, Ltd brace to satisfy local demand for generative AI chatbots in the coming weeks.
Alibaba looks to launch a large-scale model on April 11 during its 2023 Cloud Summit in Beijing with an industry application model on April 18, the Register reports.
Alibaba's research institute, DAMO Academy, is reportedly working to incorporate the large-scale model into its Tmall Genie, a smart speaker home to intelligent personal assistant AliGenie.

Alibaba's large language model official release will come just days after Huawei debuts its generative AI service.
Huawei's chief AI scientist, Qi Tian, will introduce "The Progress and Application of Pangu Large Scale Models" on April 8 at the Hangzhou AI Large-Scale Model Technology Summit. Pangu has been developing since 2020 and released the model in April 2021.
In late March, Baidu Inc BIDU dumped the highly-anticipated public launch of its ChatGPT-like product, Ernie Bot.
