BeReal, the emerging social media platform which is dubbed as a threat to Meta Platform Inc.’s META Instagram and ByteDance-owned TikTok, is rumored to be integrating with Apple Inc.’s AAPL Music app.
What Happened: On Friday, developer and app analyst Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screenshot on Twitter that seems to show BeReal enabling users to share the songs they’re currently listening to on Apple Music with their followers.

For the unversed, BeReal is a social app launched in 2020. It has gained recognition for its emphasis on encouraging users to share genuine moments from their daily lives. The app notifies users to capture a picture of their activities without any option for filters or edits before sharing it with their friends.
BeReal received the “iPhone App of the Year” award last year.
Why It’s Important: On Wednesday, Spotify SPOT announced a similar feature, which Paluzzi tweeted about over a month ago.
The company stated, “Starting today, when you use BeReal, you can also include what you’re listening to on Spotify!”
To link BeReal and Spotify accounts, users can take one out of two ways to proceed.
First, tap on the music icon that appears prior to sharing the BeReal post. Second, navigate to the “Settings” section within the BeReal app, select “Music,” and follow the prompts to connect to Spotify.
