Bud Lite Brawl: MAGA Influencer's 'Ultra Right' Beer Fizzles Out Amid Dylan Mulvaney Melodrama

Zinger Key Points
  • Seth Weathers created Ultra Right beer amid Bud Light controversy but the brewery dropped his brand.
  • The MAGA influencer is also the CEO of a company that produces "Let's Go Brandon" t-shirts.

While Bud Light has remained mostly silent on the issue, influencers, entertainment personalities and others on social media have been quite vocal over the brand’s decision to feature trans influencer and activist Dylan Mulvaney’s picture on a can.

Calls to boycott Anheuser Busch Inbev SA's BUD portfolio of brands came after Mulvaney, a transgender influencer and activist, posted on TikTok that she had received a commemorative BUD can with her image on it.

Beer drinkers that decided to boycott the company's products ran into problems, however, when they discovered that Anheuser-Busch produces many of the most popular beers in the U.S., including Budweiser, Stella Artois, Busch and Shock Top, among others.

MAGA influencer Seth Weathers attempted to solve that problem by releasing a new brand of beer called Ultra Right, which claims to be “100% Woke Free American Beer.” Weathers, the CEO of Freedom Speak Up, a marketing company that sells “Let’s Go Brandon” and “Ice Cold Conservative” t-shirts and hats, has run into production issues, however, according to Newsweek.

Illinois-based Bent River Brewing Company, which was slated to produce the beer, has refused to do so after seeing how the brand was being marketed, according to the outlet. Weathers appears to have refuted the news, and took to Twitter on Thursday to comment on an article about the matter written by the Daily Beast with “lol this will age poorly.”

To advertise the beer, Weathers created a parody-like video and posted it to Twitter. The 58-second clip begins with Weathers saying “America's been drinking beer from a company that doesn't even know which restroom to use,” and later features the right-wing influencer hitting a can of Bud Light with a baseball bat set to the sound of a gun firing.
