Empowering Latinx Canna-Preneurs: JM Balbuena's Award-Winning Book Now Available In Spanish

San Diego-based author, filmmaker, and entrepreneur JM Balbuena has recently released a Spanish language version of her award-winning book, "The Successful Canna-Preneur." The new edition, titled "Cana-Emprender Exitosamente: La Guía Práctica para Prosperar en el Espacio del Cannabis Legal," aims to empower Spanish-speaking individuals with valuable information and resources to navigate the rapidly growing legal cannabis industry.

Balbuena, originally from the Dominican Republic, emphasizes the importance of providing this information to the Latin and Hispanic communities. "The history of cannabis prohibition in the United States is largely rooted in bias against Mexican immigrants, and as a result, Latin and Hispanic communities have borne a disproportionate burden of its consequences along with the Black and Indigenous communities," she says. As an immigrant herself, Balbuena feels a strong responsibility to make opportunities within the cannabis industry accessible to those who have been disproportionately affected by prohibition.

In discussing the significance of the book's translation, Balbuena highlights the challenges many Spanish-speaking individuals face when entering the cannabis industry, including licensing and compliance issues, as well as the development of business plans and industry-specific knowledge. She notes, "systemic racial disparities in the enforcement of drug laws make it more difficult for people of color to access opportunities within the regulated cannabis industry in the US."

By launching the Spanish version of her book, Balbuena hopes to address these disparities and empower Latinx individuals to succeed in the industry.

As a native Spanish speaker, Balbuena is particularly excited about offering the translation, as she understands firsthand the language barriers that can hinder communication within the cannabis industry. "Unfortunately, due to stigma and the lack of Spanish-language resources available to non-English speakers, some members of my family still struggle to understand my role as a canna-preneur," she shares.

Balbuena is confident that her book, Cana-emprender Exitosamente, will serve as a valuable resource for those seeking to understand the cannabis industry in the United States, especially those facing language barriers.

With her book now available in Spanish, JM Balbuena continues to establish herself as a prominent thought leader in cannabis, Latino affairs, women empowerment, social equity, military veteran advocacy, Web3 multi-media, and wealth generation. As the legal cannabis space continues to expand, Balbuena's insights and expertise will undoubtedly prove invaluable for Spanish-speaking audiences looking to break into the industry.
