Another one of former President Donald Trump’s businesses is in hot water, which has become par for the course. This time, a man is suing a Trump International Beach Resort in Florida for conditions he claims led to the partial amputation of his foot.
Theoharis Lekas claims “scorching hot” sand and pool decks at the resort left him with feet that were so badly burnt that doctors had to amputate one of his toes and part of his right foot, according to Business Insider. Although the New Jersey man didn’t notice the extent of the injury until he returned home, due to having diabetic neuropathy, according to the outlet.
Lekas had burns on both his feet, from walking to and from the water, but his left foot healed without requiring surgery.
Lekas vacationed at the Trump-owned resort in Sunny Isles last August for an extended weekend with his family, and on Friday he filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court, accusing the resort of negligence for not taking measures to lower the temperature of the walking surfaces amid 95-degree air temperatures.
The man is seeking an undisclosed amount in compensation from the former president’s resort and the company that built the venue, Dezer Properties, according to the outlet.
