Ethereum ETH/USD also recorded losses, but traded above the key $1,800 mark this morning.
Investors are awaiting the release of minutes from the Fed’s recent meeting.
Synthetix SNX/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Fantom FTM/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.12 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 1.9%. BTC was trading lower by 2.2% at $26,696 while ETH fell by around 1.9% to $1,817 on Wednesday.
