Mary Trump, niece of former President Donald Trump, in a recent podcast, weighed in on what it would take for the Democrats to emerge victorious in the 2024 election.
Democracy Vs. Fascism: "Pretending that we're playing by the same old rules is going to be fatal to the American experiment," Mary Trump said in an episode of the "Burn The Boats" podcast hosted by Ken Harbaugh that was aired on Tuesday.
Pretending that the other side is operating in good faith demoralizes the other side, Mary Trump said, apparently referring to the Democrats.
Mary Trump, a psychologist by profession, said she doesn't go out of the way to criticize the Biden administration as she needs it to win again in 2024. "And right now, we are literally looking at a choice between democracy and fascism," she said.
Even if in disagreement with some of President Joe Biden's policy issues, she said "Once in a while, I'm going to keep my mouth shut."
"If he is running in the general election against any of these Republicans, President Biden will be the only pro-democracy candidate on the ballot. So, I’m pulling my punches about other things," she added.

Fight Hard: Mary Trump also took exception to Biden calling Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) a good friend or House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) as an honest man. "It just completely misreads the reality we are dealing with."
"The Republicans burned the playbook to ashes, and they are not operating in good faith in any way, shape, or form," Mary Trump said.
Democrats should understand that you can fight really hard without becoming like your enemy, she added.
She also emphasized the need to do "everything in our power to win without lying, cheating, and stealing like they [Republicans] do."
