Competition for Apple's AAPL iPhone might be about to heat up. Cnet is reporting that Google's GOOG Motorola division will release its "X Phone" this summer.
The phone has been rumored for months now, and has been theorized to be a high end phone that would compete directly with Apple's iPhone 5 and Samsung's Galaxy devices.
Cnet claims that the device will arrive on US major carrier July 8. The phone could be pricey, though. Cnet says the phone would cost $299 including a contact. That would be comparable to Samsung's Galaxy Note 2, but more expensive than Apple's cheapest iPhone 5 model.
