Elon Musk's Boring Company Starts Final Countdown For Burnt Hair Perfume Shipping

Elon Musk‘s The Boring Company on Wednesday said that the final countdown has begun for its burnt hair perfume.

What Happened: In a mail to customers, the company said those who ordered its burnt hair perfume could change their shipping address by sending an email request by June 9.

“We’re coming to the end of the wick as your soon-to-be favorite fragrance is closer than it’s ever been to hitting your doorstep,” the mail read, as per a tweet shared by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley.

Why It Matters: The perfume is expected to start shipping in June. "The only thing between you and your new favorite fragrance is a bit of packaging and a mailman," The Boring Company wrote in a mail last month.

The fragrance, described as the essence of repugnant desire, was first teased by CEO Elon Musk in September. The same company that sold you a flamethrower is now coming up with a burnt hair scent, Musk said on Twitter.

"Stand out in a crowd! Get noticed as you walk through the airport!" Musk wrote. A month later, Musk said that Dogecoin (DOGE/USD) payments would be accepted for the product, priced at $100 a bottle.

The company sold more than $1 million worth of the fragrance on its first day in October. The perfume is now marked as sold out on the company website which notes that the "flames will begin" in the second quarter.
