Elon Musk's sister says she has been overcharged because people assume her eldest brother pays for everything, and she shares a surname with the world's richest man.
During an interview with the Daily Mail, Tosca Musk expressed how the Musk surname can be both a blessing and a curse. She also mentioned an incident that resulted in her being quoted an inflated price for a film location.
'The location was going to cost $5,000 a day," the Daily Mail quoted her saying, "but when they heard my name and assumed we were rich, they decided to charge us $25,000."
When asked about financial assistance from her brother, Tosca said, "It's a double-edged sword for me to disclose whether my brother has helped in any way."
"If I say no, then people will say he does not support me at all, and if I say yes, they'll think he paid for everything," she added.
"Everyone assumes my eldest brother pays for everything, but he does not," Tosca said.
However, she told the Daily Mail that her last name was "mostly a blessing" and that she would never be tempted to change it.
