Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc TSLA and owner of Twitter following which Musk expressed his admiration for Modi stating, “I’m a fan of Modi,” and showed enthusiasm about India’s promising future.
What Happened? The two first met in 2015 when Modi visited Tesla’s factory in California. Now, Musk is optimistic about Tesla’s entry into India, promising to make it happen as soon as possible.
Musk praised Modi for encouraging significant investment in India, pointing out the necessity to find the right timing. He highlighted Modi’s desire to support companies through openness.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Musk confirmed his interest in the Indian market. He also shared tentative plans to visit India next year and expressed hope to bring his Starlink Internet service to rural areas or remote Indian villages.

After the meeting, Musk took to Twitter to express his honor in meeting Modi again. In response, Modi highlights the diverse topics of their discussion, ranging from energy to spirituality.
Modi appreciated Musk’s drive to make technology affordable and accessible across various sectors. He extended an invitation to Musk to explore investment opportunities in India, specifically in the fields of electric mobility and the commercial space sector.
Modi’s U.S. visit, a privilege extended to close allies by Washington DC, includes an address to the U.S. Congress, meetings with business leaders, and a state dinner at the White House with U.S. President Joe Biden.
