According to Wilson, the goal is to empower studio leaders with more creative ownership and financial accountability, enabling faster decision-making and strategic vision realization.

Laura Miele, EA's former COO, has been appointed president of EA Entertainment, and Cam Weber, who has a strong background in EA's football games, will lead EA SPORTS.

Wilson explained that the EA Entertainment unit will house studios responsible for renowned intellectual properties, including popular titles such as Apex Legends, Star Wars games, and Battlefield. EA SPORTS will encompass various sports offerings within the company. Both units will report directly to Wilson.

"This evolution of our company continues to empower our studio leaders with more creative ownership and financial accountability to make faster and more insightful decisions around development and go-to-market strategies," Wilson said.

"We’re building the future of interactive entertainment on a foundation of legendary franchises and innovative new experiences, which represents massive opportunities for growth."

The recent organizational changes followed EA's previous announcement regarding the company's restructuring plans, which involve a reduction in workforce of approximately six percent. As part of the restructuring, the company headquartered in Redwood City, California, will also undertake office space reductions and portfolio rationalization measures.
