Updated AirDrop With Cool New Animations
The most significant improvement in the iOS 17 beta 2 update is the updated version of AirDrop. While transfers via near-field communication (NFC) are not new, Apple has given it a delightful touch with cool new visuals and haptic feedback.
When you bring two iPhones close to each other, their respective top halves of the display light up, indicating that the process of beaming something to the other device has begun. There is haptic feedback upon completion.
"Beam me up, Scotty", but for phones!
Fast Haptic Touch
Apple killed 3D Touch in 2019 with the launch of the iPhone 11. It has now added customization options for haptic touch to make up for it. The "Fast" option is nearly twice as fast as the default option.
Apple Music Improvements
Apple Music now has new widgets of different sizes, and crossfade now has a slider to control the fade duration between two songs. Apple has also fixed a crash that would occur when enabling the crossfade option in Settings.
Other Changes
The iOS 17 beta 2 update also includes a refreshed "Update" screen that shows more information about new updates. Apple has also added new wallpapers in CarPlay.
The iOS 17 update is all set to launch this fall, likely alongside iPhone 15 in September.
