Genius Sports Ltd GENI bagged a significant new expansion and extension deal with Football DataCo, the data rights holder of UK football.
As per the deal, the company extended its long-term partnership with Football DataCo as the exclusive official supplier of low-latency live data.
GENI will collect, license and distribute official live betting data from the English Premier League (EPL), English Football League (EFL), and Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) to sportsbooks globally.
The expanded deal also comprised GENI's AI-powered tracking technology for the EFL Championship and Championship Play-Off matches.
As EPL's official partner, GENI will install AI-powered tracking systems at all remaining Championship grounds to capture sub-second, skeletal tracking data for all Sky Bet EFL Championship and Championship Play-Off matches. The renewed partnership will be valid until the 2024-2025 season.
The company has been the exclusive distributor of low-latency official data to hundreds of regulated sportsbooks worldwide from over 4,000 UK football fixtures per season since the start of the season in 2019.
Last month, GENI reported first-quarter FY23 sales growth of 13.2% year-on-year to $97.23 million, beating the consensus of $92.28 million and EPS loss of $(0.12), missing the analyst consensus of $(0.09).
Price Action: GENI shares are trading lower by 1.35% at $5.86 on the last check Friday.
