Elon Musk Confirms Twitter Has A 'D**k Pic Bot' Which Sometimes Thinks Rockets Are Phalluses

Twitter apparently has a ‘d**k pic bot' that scans the social media platform for media containing phallic-shaped objects and flags them, according to the company's owner Elon Musk.

What Happened: In a response to @libsoftiktok, Musk revealed that Twitter uses a ‘d**k pic bot' to scan images and videos containing phallic-shaped objects. This is used to mark those accounts as "not safe for work" (NSFW) and their reach is limited.

As a corrective measure, Musk said that instead of flagging accounts posting NSFW media and limiting the reach of those accounts, only the individual posts containing the said media will now be labeled NSFW.

While Twitter does not prohibit users from posting "pornography and other forms of consensually produced adult content", media containing this content should be marked "sensitive". If users fail to do so, Twitter may do it manually if the content is reported.

Not Perfect: Twitter's d**k pic bot' is not perfect, as is often the case with bots trained to identify certain objects or content. It ends up detecting rockets as phalluses, and female genitalia also confuses it sometimes, Musk said.

Despite Musk confirming the existence of the bot, it's not clear if Twitter has one or if Musk was simply cracking a joke. Twitter has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of this bot, yet.

For instance, when asked what the bot should be called, Musk proposed the nickname "Hotdog detector".
