Marpai, Inc. MRAI, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Third-Party Administrator (TPA), has partnered with Oshi Health, Inc. to offer advanced virtual digestive care to its employer health plan members. The partnership is set to boost Marpai’s commitment to addressing high-cost gastrointestinal conditions, improving access to care and promoting health equity, especially in underserved areas.
Marpai is working to transform the health plan sector through the power of its patented AI-powered system. By leveraging AI and big data, the company can provide early disease detection and offer clients the best value in care providers through its Connect platform.
As a TPA, Marpai is responsible for the logistics and management of self-funded health plans. Around 65% of all workers get health coverage through a self-funded plan, which is a plan covered by their employer.
Marpai estimates its total addressable market (TAM) is around $22 billion in TPA service fees, and the company believes its AI-driven Marpai Connect platform sets itself apart from traditional TPAs. Its system saves employers money on their self-funded health plans and also improves treatment outcomes for patients.
Through its new collaboration, Marpai will add Oshi Health to its Marpai Connect platform as a clinical care partner. Oshi Health has a proven approach that uses a high-quality virtual care model to increase patient access to premium gastrointestinal (GI) treatment.
“We are thrilled to offer Oshi Health to address the high-cost GI conditions facing members of health plans we manage," said Mr. Edmundo Gonzalez, Chief Executive Officer of Marpai. "With Oshi Health, members access care that can dramatically improve their health and quality of life and avoid high-cost diagnostic testing and emergency room visits, which saves significant money for them and their employer's health plan.”
Partnering With A Leader In A $51 Billion Market
The gastroenterology market, which focuses on the digestive system and its disorders, was worth $51 billion in 2022. It is predicted to reach $93 billion by 2032, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% over 2022-2032.
New data shows that, in the past year, almost 40% of all Americans have suffered from digestive issues that have interfered with their daily activities. This amounts to 60 - 70 million people, indicating the scope of the need for medical plans that include treatment for GI diseases.
Oshi Health has a proven record of first-class treatment for GI and digestive issues. Results from a clinical trial indicate that using Oshi Health saved patients an average of $10,292 each in all-cause healthcare costs. The results also revealed that 92% of Oshi Health patients got symptom control in four months, with a 98% satisfaction rate.
"We're delighted to work with forward-thinking, technology-powered companies like Marpai to scale access to care that millions of Americans so desperately need," says Sam Holliday, Chief Executive Officer of Oshi Health.
Companies like Reliance Global Group RELIW and Quad M Solutions Inc. MMMM are also working in the healthcare insurance sector.
