Chinese EV startups Li Auto LI, Nio NIO and XPeng XPEV reported their July delivery numbers on Tuesday.
What Happened: Li Auto witnessed a remarkable surge in delivery numbers, reporting a year-on-year increase of 227.5% to 34,134 vehicles. This record-breaking achievement surpassed its previous month’s delivery record of 32,575 units and also marks the second consecutive month Li has crossed the 30,000 mark.
Nio seconded in deliveries among the three startups with 20,462 vehicles delivered last month, a 103.6% rise year-over-year. The growth is largely owing to the sale of its ES6 SUV which exceeded 10,000 units in July. In June, Nio delivered only 10,707 vehicles.
Guangzhou-based XPeng meanwhile delivered 11,008 EVs in July, a 28% increase over the prior month and marking the company's six straight month of delivery number growth. However, the fresh delivery numbers are a slump from July last year when the company delivered 11,524 vehicles.
