Austin-based Apex Trader Funding reports that it is not only one of the largest prop trader firms in the industry but that it makes some of the largest and most consistent payouts to its large trading community.

The company’s mission is to help traders make a career out of day trading, and Apex Trader Funding believes in being fully transparent about the compensation it gives to its members. The company has given its traders compensation totaling over $26 million since 2022 and $12.4 million in just the last three months. Its average monthly compensation since January 2023 is $3 million, and has reported paying traders more in the last three months than other futures funding evaluation firms have paid in the last three years.

The company has also grown significantly over the past few years. Since its founding in 2021, the Apex Trader Funding community has expanded significantly,  with traders in 150 countries. So far in 2023 alone, the platform had more than 215,000 accounts created

Prop trading firms, which allow individuals to trade using the firm’s funds instead of their own, have increased in popularity in recent years. While there are millions of active traders across the globe, day trading has a high turnover rate because of its risks and the difficulty of making a profit. Trading with a prop firm is meant to give traders tools to minimize their risk exposure while increasing their potential returns.

Apex Prizes Simple Rules For Traders

The founder and CEO of Apex Trader Funding, Darrell Martin, started the company out of the desire to create a prop firm that actually worked for traders and which would help them start a career in this competitive industry. The company’s motto is “Traders Helping Traders,” and the firm is set up to provide an intuitive and supportive environment for serious traders.

Traders can get qualified with one of Apex Trader Funding’s several account types through a simple, one-step process. Traders must reach and hold their profit target with a minimum of seven days of trading and not hit the max drawdown, whichever comes first. The company allows trading for 23 hours a day, from 6 pm EST to 4:59 pm the following day.

Apex Trader Funding believes a minimalist approach to rules empowers traders to make their best trades. So when they are qualifying, traders only have to follow a set of straightforward rules to keep their accounts:

  • They can’t hit their trailing stop
  • They must hit and maintain the account size profit target
  • They must trade for a minimum of 7 days
  • Trades must close by 4:59 pm EST
  • No one else can trade with their account

When they follow these rules, traders will pass their evaluation and be eligible for a Performance Account (PA) where they can receive 100% of the first $25,000 per account and then 90% of their earnings after that. Payouts are up to two times a month, and Apex Trader Funding doesn’t set a max cap on payouts.

Along with these simple rules, the Apex Trader Funding platform provides some extra support to its traders. It provides a live trailing threshold to encourage profit-taking, risk management and protect its traders from daily drawdowns that could come from a volatile shift in market price. Plus, the system will automatically cap a trader's position, meaning users can trade to the max number of contracts and they won’t be failed for going over their account contract limit. There are also no scaling rules — allowing traders to trade the max number of contracts on day one. Also, the firm doesn’t penalize traders for normal trading during a news announcement.

The firm has a 4.8/5 rating on TrustPilot, with over 3,500 reviews, and its transparent, supportive trading environment are some of the many reasons Apex Trader Funding appears to be a very popular choice among traders. The company also just launched ‘Trader Bacon,’ a live-stream show that is hosted in collaboration with Benzinga.
