Sometimes remote and hybrid workers just need to get out of the house, but work-from-home often means hopping in the car to find a coffee shop, library or coworking space.

Some cities have more options than others when it comes to finding coworking space that’s close to home, with Miami ranking as the top large metropolitan area where coworking spaces are located in more than one-quarter of its ZIP codes, according to a recent report from Coworking Café, which set out to find the locations where workers have the best chances of finding a coworking space close to home.

Take a look at the metropolitan areas with the most ZIP codes with coworking spaces.

No. 1: Miami

Miami has more than 200 coworking spaces spread across 77 of its nearly 300 ZIP codes. Most of the coworking spaces are located in the city’s thriving business district on Brickell Avenue, but they are also plentiful in some of Miami’s suburbs, such as Doral, Coral Gables and Cutler Bay.

No. 2: Raleigh, North Carolina

Raleigh has fewer ZIP codes than Miami with just 81, but 23.5% of them host coworking spaces. Again, most of the coworking spaces are in the downtown area, the surrounding neighborhoods have their fair share, especially near Millbrook, Cary and the Research Triangle.

No. 3: Denver

No. 3-ranked Denver’s 119 coworking spaces are spread across 22% of its ZIP codes, but unlike other metros, 80% of them are outside of its central business district, which makes it easy for workers to avoid long commutes downtown.

No. 4: Las Vegas

Las Vegas comes in at No. 4 with 26 — 21% — of its 124 ZIP codes having coworking spaces. Many of the spaces are in the city’s northwest region, but the Spring Valley and Paradise areas also have a good supply of flex workspaces.

No. 5: Boston

Although Boston comes in fifth place among the large metros, the city has one of the highest numbers of ZIP codes with coworking at 81. But because it also has a high number of ZIP codes, the share of those with coworking space is just 19.4%.

With workers continuing to resist returning to the office post-pandemic, coworking spaces have become more desirable than they were before the pandemic. The national coworking space stock reached a total location count of 5,612 in March, and many of the facilities have expanded beyond central business districts and into the suburbs.
