Tesla Offers As Much As $9,600 Off On Inventory Model S, X Vehicles In China

EV giant Tesla Inc TSLA has announced fresh incentives on its inventory of Model S and X vehicles in China.

Inventory Model S vehicles will now be available for as low as 754,900 yuan ($103,763) and the plaid version at 958,900 yuan ($131,803).

With Model X, the base version will be available for 836,900 yuan ($115,034) and its plaid version for 989,900 yuan ($136,065), the company said in a Weibo post.

The newly announced prices are at a discount in the range of 54,000 yuan to 70,000 yuan ($9,593) and represent a near 7% cut from the price of new, custom-ordered vehicles. The highest discount of 70,000 yuan is on the Model S Plaid and the lowest on the Model S.

The fresh incentives come a day after Tesla introduced a ‘standard range' version of Model S and Model X priced $10,000 less than the Long Range version. The lower-priced versions come with a lower driving range.

Earlier this week, Tesla also cut prices on the Model Y Long Range and Performance versions within the geography by as much as 14,000 yuan or $1,900.

Tesla started cutting prices on its vehicles in China in October 2022. Though it also hiked prices in between, all versions of Model Y and Model 3 in the country remain cheaper than before the initial round of price cuts. Model S and X prices are, however, higher than their launch price from January.
