Coming To Xbox Game Pass In August: 'Starfield', 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' And More

Microsoft Corporation's MSFT Xbox Game Pass is bringing exciting titles this August, with the highlight being the horror game "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre."

The asymmetrical horror experience, based on the iconic 1974 film, is set for release on Aug. 18.

The lineup also includes the sci-fi shooter "Everspace 2" available now on cloud and console, and the atmospheric mystery game "Firewatch" arriving on Aug. 17 for cloud, console, and PC.

Additionally, the turn-based RPG "Sea of Stars" launches on Aug. 29, while the platformer "Gris" becomes available on Sept. 5.

Notably, early access to the highly anticipated "Starfield" is granted on Sept. 1 for those who purchase the pricier version.

Game Pass subscribers receive a 10% discount on the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade, allowing them to play the game five days early on Xbox Series X, S, and PC. Upgrading from the Standard Edition to the Premium Edition also includes the Shattered Space Story Expansion, the Constellation skin pack, and access to the Starfield Digital Artbook and original soundtrack.

Finally, on Aug. 31, six games will be removed from Game Pass:

  • Black Desert (available on cloud and console)
  • Commandos 3 – HD Remaster (available on cloud, console, and PC)
  • Immortality (available on cloud, console, and PC)
  • Nuclear Throne (available on cloud, console, and PC)
  • Surgeon Simulator 2 (available on cloud, console, and PC)
  • Tinykin (available on cloud, console, and PC)
