Dollar General Opens Distribution Center In Nebraska, Plans To Create 400+ Jobs

Dollar General Corporation DG inaugurated its Blair, Nebraska distribution center, tapping a growth milestone to its global supply chain base.

The company said the Dollar General Blair distribution center is its first dual facility combining the efficiencies of traditional and DG Fresh supply chain functionalities. 

It represents an approximate $140 million investment in Washington County.

The roughly one million square feet facility is expected to create more than 400 new career opportunities and support more than 1,000 DG stores at total capacity. Dollar General employs more than 1,700 Nebraskans across its store and distribution center presence.

"We are confident this project will enable us to better serve our customers, provide our employees with career opportunities and foster a longstanding, positive relationship with the Blair community," said Jeff Owen, Dollar General's chief executive officer.

Price Action: DG shares closed higher by 1.55% to $162.99 on Friday.
