Earn $5,400 And Help Combat Malaria: Bill Gates Foundation-Supported Human Trial Awaits Those Brave Enough To Allow Deliberate Infection

On Tuesday, Alyssa Vance, a poster on X.com, formerly Twitter, highlighted an opportunity for individuals to participate in a human challenge trial aimed at combating malaria.

What Happened: Vance took to Twitter to share information about a human challenge trial where participants can earn $5,400 by willingly being exposed to malaria.

The purpose of this trial is to test the efficacy of a new treatment. The study, named MAM01 Malaria Monoclonal Antibody Trial, is testing the safety and effectiveness of an experimental human monoclonal antibody called MAM01 for preventing malaria.

Participants, who are generally healthy and aged between 18 and 50 years old, will be exposed to the bite of infected mosquitoes to test the protection offered by MAM01. Immediate treatment will be provided if participants develop malaria. The study is being conducted at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in collaboration with the Gates Foundation.
