Trump's 'Athletic' Measurements After Booking Leaves Newsrooms, Social Media In Splits: 'He's, Like, Downing Ozempic'

Former President Donald Trump broke some unsavory records after getting mugshot at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday as he faces his fourth indictment on charges stemming from his and allies’ efforts to reverse the state’s 2020 election results

But some TV newsrooms, as well as social media, could not control their laughter after reports emerged about 77-year-old Trump’s measurements that were taken as part of the procedure.

What Happened: On MSNBC, host Rachel Maddow asked “Do they actually measure him? Do they put him on a scale? … But he’s listed as a white male; his hair color is listed as blond or strawberry,” to chuckles from the panel.

One panel member could be heard asking, “Is that a nice way to say orange?”

Maddow continued reading his measurements: “His height is listed as 6-foot-3 and his weight is listed as ….”

“175,” co-host Lawrence O’Donnell butted in jokingly.

“215 lbs,” Maddow revealed.

“6’3”, 215 lbs — people pointed out is the exact dimension of Lamar Jackson, the quarterback from Baltimore Ravens,” joked panel member Chris Hayes.

“I mean, the resemblance is uncanny,” another panel member could be heard saying.

“The whole thing is a sham,” said MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, laughing. “Even if he fasted, there’s no way … and Mark Meadows had to also self-report his weight. And he clocked in at 240 lbs. There’s no way Trump is 25 lbs lighter than Meadows!”

Co-host Joy Reid jumped in with her remark: “He’s, like, downing Ozempic.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper could be heard going, “Wait. What?” when the measurements were released publicly.

On social media platform X, Trump supporter Alex Bruesewitz posted: “6'3 215. Absolute elite athlete. Trump 2024.”

A CNN anchor said, “If Donald Trump weighs 215 lbs, then I dated Halle Berry.”

Other users online compared the unbelievable stats to boxing legend Muhammad Ali or more contemporary American athletes like Noah Karim Mikhail and Larry Fitzgerald

Why It Matters: In 2016, Trump asserted he was 6-foot-3 and weighed 236 pounds, figures that fall within overweight standards as per the scientific community, according to other media reports, which added that his New York driver’s license indicates he is 6-foot-2.

However, according to ABC News, Trump's height and weight were “pre-reported” to speed up the booking process.

Trump, who’s famously known to prefer fried chicken, diet Coke, and Big Macs as part of his diet, has body-shamed people like former friend and New Jersey governor Chris Christie in the past on more than one occasion. Christie a couple of months ago struck back asking, “Oh, like he’s some Adonis?”
