Robert Reich Compares Trump With 'Crooks,' 'Bigots' And 'Incompetents': 'A President Who Combined All These Qualities'

Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich recently criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump, comparing him with ex-presidents who have had controversial moments in history. This comes in the wake of Trump’s recent legal troubles.

What Happened: Reich tweeted on Monday: “America has had its share of presidents who were crooks (Warren G. Harding, Richard Nixon), bigots (Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan), and incompetents (Andrew Johnson, George W. Bush). But never before Donald Trump have we had a president who combined all these qualities.”

Why It Matters: Reich’s tweet comes after Trump and his allies were indicted on 13 charges related to their attempts to overturn Joe Biden‘s 2020 election victory.

This marked the fourth time this year that the former president has been indicted. The charges include breaching the state's racketeering law and urging a public official to breach their oath.

Trump voluntarily surrendered to authorities at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, making him the first former U.S. president to face criminal charges.
